The Severn Estuary, one of the largest in Europe, has a huge tidal range. The shapes and patterns of the sand and mud beds revealed at low tide, especially after tidal surges such as the Severn Bore, can change considerably. Changing light, especially at dusk, can illuminate these reflective surfaces into beautiful textural scenes.
